It’s time! The days are already a little shorter, the air is crisp, and there are camp fire smells in the air. Already some of the leaves have begun their firework fall display in the North Georgia Mountains. This is my favorite season for the sweaters, warm bowls of soup, and cool sleeping temperatures. I’m not the only one. Thousands will visit the north Georgia mountains this fall to soak in all the beauty of this gorgeous season.
The leaves are their most colorful the later part of October and even into the first week of November. You’ll drive down Wolf Pen Gap Road, the Ocoee Scenic Byway, ride the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, or check out the view from the top of Brasstown Bald to take in all those yellows, golds, oranges, and reds. And with just a puff of a breeze, the leaves will rain down and tumble along the ground just to be crunched under foot as you take a great hike along one of our beautiful mountain trails.
It’s time for camp fires, s’mores and hot chocolate. Time for soup and chili. Time for pumpkins, hay rides, and apple pies. There’s football on tv and plans on the horizon for getting together with family and friends for the upcoming holidays. This is when time slows down, just a little, so you can take in all this change and color. This is my favorite time of year and if you come and visit the north Georgia mountains, you will see why. Come on and snuggle in! You know you want to live here!
